The Falcon's hyperdrive wasn't functioning, hence why they went to Bespin to get it fixed. Boba Fett was tracking the Falcon. Fett/Solo/Calrissian have history, once Boba realised that the Falcon wasn't far from Bespin he would've informed the Empire of their likely destination.

But they'd still have to know where they were going, get there well in advance, set their plan and hide a fleet of ships.

Not that I REALLY care, but it's always irritated me a little when I watch the film.

Re: Star Wars Rogue One - anyone?
in New Hope he says the Falcon doe s0.5 past lightspeed

that's nothing like fast enough to cover the distances involved in the time

for instance for us to go to the nearest star other than our own at that speed would take over 3 years

Re: Star Wars Rogue One - anyone?
The only star wars plot hole that really irritates me is how in Empire Strikes back that the Imperial fleet get to Bespin before the Millenium Falcon, given:

a) They didn't know where the Falcon was going (and nor would Boba Fett until they were well on their way- how did he get there first as well seen as he was following them?)

b) They'd just jazzed off in another direction at light speed.

c) There was absolutely no evidence of them being anywhere near Bespin- there's no way Solo etc wouldn't have noticed a bunch of star destroyers hanging around.

Given the Empire didn't know where they were going, to not only beat them there, talk to Lando and 'take over' the place and set a trap, then hide the fleet all before the Falcon arrived just isn't possible.

seems to be the reason to cover most plot holes or ridiculous coincidences in that galaxy so why not!

Eddie

But" "English" has been spokke in game setc from that Galaxy 10's thousands of years ago

you shouldn't be asking why they speak English
You should be asking why WE speak the same language as them!
